Salata de orez - Rice salad

Reteta vazuta tot la diva in bucatarie si pe care o planuiam de ceva vreme, o aveam intr-o carte "Cooking with a commonsense guide",dar aveam ceva reticente. Si acum parca imi pare rau,ca este o salata delicioasa si combinatia de ceapa verde si lamaie e foarte pe gustul meu!
Am folosit orez la punga,cel care se pune in apa cu tot cu punga.

Ingrediente:
2 pungi x125 de grame de orez (am gasit orez tailandez la punga,dar se poate orice fel}
2-4 cepe verzi
1 morcov mare
100 gr de masline verzi umplute  cu ardei rosu
100 gr de porumb (am folosit congelat)
1 lamaie
1 lingura de ulei


Se fierbe orezul dupa instructiunile de pe cutie. La mine a fost gata in 16 minute.
Se curata ceapa verde si morcovul .
Ceapa se taie marunt,iar morcovul se da pe razatoare.
Intr-un bol se pune orezul,care s-a scos din pungi.
Se adauga ceapa,morcovul,porumbul si maslinele taiate rondele.
Se adauga suc de lamaie proaspat stors,dupa gust si eventual se poate rade si putina coaja pentru o aroma mai intensa.
Se pune si o lingura de ulei si daca e nevoie se adauga putina sare.
Se poate servi ca si garnitura sau ca atare.


"Cooking with a commonsense guide" is my Bible when it comes to cooking books. It has all my favorites and all the classics. It's been awhile since I saw the recipe in the book and for some reason I didn't try it,somehow I thought it might be weird. Than I saw the recipe again on a Romanian cooking site and I gave it a try! I'm so glad I did,the combination of scallions and freshly squeezed lemon juice is great!
I used the rice that comes in plastic bags and is immersed in boiling water.

Ingredients:
2 bags x 125 gr of rice
2-4 scallions,cleaned and chopped
1 big carrot,cleaned and grated
100 gr green olives with red pepper,sliced
100 gr frozen corn
1 lemon
1 T oil

Cook the rice according to the instructions.
Add all ingredients in a bowl and add freshly squeezed lemon juice according to your taste.
Add the oil and toss.
Serve cold.
